Salman Khan is all set to return as the host of yet another season reality television show Bigg Boss, but this time the show is set to go “Digital First” by launching on the streaming platform VOOT ahead of its television premiere.
Recently, Voot announced the premiere of Bigg Boss OTT and the first six weeks of this highly anticipated reality show will be accessible for streaming 24/7 on viewers’ devices. The OTT version of the show will premier on August 8 only on VOOT and will start airing on television six weeks after its OTT premier.
In the promo shared by VOOT, we see Salman telling fans that Bigg Boss OTT will surely get banned on TV. That’s because, according to him, “Iss baar ka Bigg Boss hai itna crazy, itna over the top, TV par toh ban ho jaayega (Bigg Boss this time is so crazy, it will definitely get banned on TV).”
Arey bhai bhai bhai, ye kya ho raha hai? 🤯
Nahi samjhe? Machane loot, aa raha hai BB OTT on #Voot
Hoga itna over the top, entertainment chalega non – stop 😌
Tell us, kitne excited ho aap? 😮

As per reports, Bigg Boss OTT will have a new face as its host while Salman continues to anchor the show that will premiere on TV. Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan, Shehnaaz Gill and Sidharth Shukla are among the personalities who have been reportedly approached to host the show.
Speaking about Bigg Boss OTT, Salman told a news portal, “It’s great that this season of Bigg Boss will have a digital-first [version] with Bigg Boss OTT, six weeks ahead of television. The platform will see unparallel interactivity where the audience will not only get entertained but also participate, engage, give tasks, and more. It’s truly for the people and by the people. My advice to all contestants is to be active, entertaining, and conduct themselves well in the BB house.”
Work on the upcoming season of Bigg Boss has already begun and Omung Kumar has started conceptualising on the house design. The audience will have a chance to engage more directly with the proceedings in the BB house this time round.
A source close to the development of the show had previously shared that Bigg Boss OTT will have a mix of influencers, social media stars and celebrities as contestants. Apart from the usual hour-long episode, viewers will get to see their journey 24X7 live on Voot. Just like the TV show, Endemol India will be producing the digital edition too.
The last season of the reality show, Bigg Boss 14, saw TV actor Rubina Dilaik take home the winner’s trophy.
