Sunil Grover, who rose to fame with Comedy Nights with Kapil, has made a foray into OTT by essaying diverse roles. He had earlier parted ways with Kapil Sharma post a public falling-out that took place some years ago. Grover had alleged that Kapil misbehaved and attacked him on a flight. Now, he has opened up about working with Sharma in the future and answered the rumours pertaining to the same. While talking to a news portal, he said there is no plan of reuniting with Kapil Sharma in the near future, however, hopes to work with him if circumstances could bring them together.
Grover said in Hindi, “There are no plans as of now, but if someday, something comes up, then we will definitely work together.”
Though the aircraft incident had caused Grover to leave the show, it wasn’t the first time the fans had witnessed their duel. Earlier in 2014, Grover gained massive popularity and went on to start his very own show, Mad in India. In response to the same, Sharma said “All I can say is, he (Sunil) should have never left our show, we were all part of the success of our show. Sunil has been around trying to find his bearings in the entertainment industry.. In fact, I go out of my way to ensure every member of my team has a chance to take the stage, so I can relax. Sunil must have been provoked into leaving by people around him.”
However, Grover failed to gain TRP for his show and later reunited with Sharma. The show once again was on its way towards ruling the Television industry when all hell broke loose between the two make members. Grover had gained more popularity for essaying the role of Dr Gulathi. However, in 2017, reports of Sharma verbally and physically assaulting Grover and other co-stars while being intoxicated were put out.
Though actor Kiku Sharda took to his social media and said no assault took place, Sharma shared a Facebook post where he accepted shouting at Grover. Both the posts have been taken down. The former then made a public apology to Grover in his tweet as well. The tweet read, “Paji @WhoSunilGrover sry if I hurt u unintentionally.u knw vry well how much I luv u. M also upset .love n regards always:)”
Grover, responded on Twitter by putting out a long note for Sharma and captioned it, “From a friend, with love.” The note read “Bhai ji! Yes, You hurt me deeply. Working with you has been a learning experience. Just one advice, start respecting human beings also apart from animals. All are not as successful as you are. All are not as talented as you are. But if they all are talented like you, who will value you. So, have some gratitude towards their existence. And also, if someone is correcting you, don’t abuse the person. Refrain from using foul language in front of women who have nothing to do with the stardom you carry, they are by chance just traveling with you. Thanks for making me realise it was your show and you have power to throw out anybody, anytime. You are the wittiest, and the best in your field, But don’t act like a ‘God.’ Take good care of yourself. Wish you lot more success and fame.”
