Mumbai: Another proud moment for the cast and makers of Indian web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. Recently, the Hansal Mehta directorial secured a place in IMDb’s list of the most popular web series and television serials of all times across the world. IMDb, an acronym to Internet Movie Database, decides the films and series rating on a 10-point scale. Currently, the Pratik Gandhi starrer rates 9.6 out of 10 according to IMDb. The Indian drama, Scam 1992 is a real life based story that covers the biggest security scam the country saw until 1992.
Previously in the year 2020, the show came out as the highest user-rated show according to the IMDb’s Top 10 Indian Web Series of 2020 list. Seems no end now Scam 1992 has emerged as the highest-rated Indian show among the top 250 TV shows and web series in the world. Huge! Show’s lead, Pratik Gandhi has responded to the rank saying it strengthens his faith in the craft. “Well, it’s a super-happy feeling. It strengthens our faith in our craft, and instinct as a whole team. I am really happy that Scam is the sole Indian show to represent the Indian entertainment industry in such an esteemed list of shows,” the actor told leading daily.
Reading along the similar list, other shows include Band of Brothers, Breaking Bad, The Wire and Chernobyl. Scam 1992 has achieved rank 9 at the moment but the ranking keeps on changing from time to time.
Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story is an adaptation of the book The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away penned by financial journalists Sucheta Dalal and Debashish Basu. The web series is written by Sumit Purohit, Saurav Dey, Vaibhav Vishal and Karan Vyas. Apart from Pratik Gandhi, Scam 1992 also stars Shreya Dhanwanthary, Vishesh Bansal, Chirag Vohra among others.
