Umera Ahmed who is best known for penning the hit show Zindagi Gulzar Hai, is the writer for this new series. The Pakistani drama is directed by Haseeb Hasan. “The sole essence of the show lies in the simplicity of its narrative. In the show a subject such as a cross border love story has been dealt with so differently and has an underlying message of peace, harmony and joy of life,” the director said in a statement.
Dhoop Ki Dewar is backed by Motion Content Group and Hamdan Films. The film also casts Samiya Mumtaz, Zaib Rehman, Savera Nadeem, Samina Ahmed, Manzar Sehbai, Raza Talish, Aly Khan, Adnan Jaffar among others in supporting roles.
Where Sajal Aly is known for her performance in Mom which cast late Sridevi in the titular role, Ahad Raza Mir was seen in serials like Sammi and Ehd-e-Wafa. Dhoop Ki Deewar is the third Zindagi original. Where, Asim Abbasi’s hit thriller drama Churails was the baby, Ek Jhoothi Love Story penned by Umera Ahmed was Zindagi’s second.
